Gasoline prices in the United States jumped seven cents to $3.32 a gallon, on average, on Friday, the latest in a series of price increases in the week since the start of the war led by the United States and Israel against Iran.

That was the highest since September 2024, according to the AAA motor club, and could become a political problem for President Trump, who has frequently boasted about how gasoline prices have fallen during his second term, and exaggerated the extent of the decline. After the recent gains, prices are now higher than when this term began.

The price of gas has risen by 34 cents, or about 11 percent, over the past week.

The Failure of US and Israeli Air Defense

While the US and Israel are delivering some punishing blows in Iran, Iran continues to successfully attack US military and intelligence targets in the Persian Gulf countries and is pummeling Israel.

Since February 28, 2026, amid escalating US-Israeli strikes on Iran and Iranian retaliatory attacks (including drone and missile strikes on US diplomatic facilities and regional bases), the US State Department has ordered the closure or indefinite suspension of operations at several US embassies in the Persian Gulf and broader Middle East region.

(The Patiot and Iron Dome cannot stop maneuverable Iranian missiles. I saw 11 Iron Dome miss an incoming missile. And I saw 3 Patriots miss an incoming missile. The US will run out of air

defense missiles in a week. Israel will threaten nuclear war.)

LNG Shipping Rates Soar 650% to $300,000 Per Day

The global LNG shipping market has turned sharply higher in recent days, with charter rates for modern LNG carriers surging from roughly $40,000 last week to around $300,000 per day as traders scramble to secure vessels amid escalating disruption in the Middle East.

According to shipbroker Fearnleys’ latest weekly LNG report, cited by Riviera Maritime Media, daily spot charter rates for 174,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers along the U.S. Gulf-Europe route have climbed to approximately $300,000 per day, up about $260,000 compared with last week. Rates on the key U.S. Gulf-Asia route covering Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China have also surged to $300,000 per day from $42,000 on February 25, while the Australia-to-Asia route has risen to roughly $255,000 per day.

Fearnleys said charterers are now paying as much as 10 times last week’s levels to secure prompt tonnage as the market braces for a potential disruption of LNG flows from the Middle East.

Oil Prices Surge Toward $90 as Middle East Tensions Escalate

Oil prices surged again on Friday, putting crude on track for its biggest weekly gain in years as disruptions to Middle East supply and tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz rattle global energy markets.

Brent crude was trading above $88 per barrel in early trading, up more than 4% on the day, while U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate climbed to roughly $85.90 per barrel, gaining more than $4.80. Murban crude — a key Middle Eastern benchmark — was approaching the $100 mark at $99.60 per barrel.

The rally caps a week in which oil prices have jumped sharply amid escalating tensions tied to the conflict involving Iran and the United States, and growing fears over the security of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

"The price of gas has risen by 34 cents, or about 11 percent, over the past week."

People have forgotten what Prez Pedo [Bidet] did to ALL prices, apparently.
I need to go get some groceries and check the local gas prices.
I hate going out in public with the LGBTQAI+ vaxxers. You never know when they're going to shoot up Kroger again.

"(TALK ABOUT DELUSIONAL. TRUMP IS ONE WEEK AWAY FROM EITHER A US DEFEAT OR AN ISRAELI NUCLEAR WAR.)"

Doubtful. It's just a dicq waggling contest. Betting against Trump is foolhardy.

Stocks are down about 1%
Energy is up sharply
Metals are doing good, the dip yesterday was odd
Crypto is down quite a bit

Everything between my hovel and Kroger was $3.599/gallon.
Prices here have been running high here for a long time now.
I think they may be having problems at the big BP refinery up near Chicago on Lake Michigan.

Got a really good deal on some thick-cut bone-in ribeye steaks.
They had two packs over half off. I got 3 for the freezer.
We have plenty of protein in the house now for the weekend.
The bill was 160 bux, it says I saved $83 - 34%.
Almost everything I got was on sale.
The flowers were not very good today.
Doc will have to do without.

I can see the refineries across corpus back bay on clear days, two weeks ago reg was $2.45 up to $2.99 a gal four days ago up to $3.19. there is a sweet spot the refiners want the price of oil and pump prices here are cyclic, over time the price will drop 2 or 3 cents every day or so for about 10 to 12 days and then jump up 30 or so cents over night.

I'm not sure where gas was before this latest war, around $3 I think.
I get gas so seldom that I worry about it going bad rather than the price.
The Clown Car needs premium. I've noticed the differential is a lot more than it used to be.

seems a bunch of legislatures don't want the peoples to know which congress persons have used monies from the slush fund when they get caught and have to pay settlements for their indiscretions

I see it at least twice in the morning and twice again in the evening we take on around 10 to 15 gallons of fuel about every four days. every station here save the Indians follow what Murphy's is pricing at.

I got my steaks separated and put away in the deep freezer. What a deal, ribeyes cheaper than hamburger.
I was tempted to get out my little electric Weber grill and have one tonight.

those ribeye steaks are $10.00 a pound here so we only do those once a month, I've gotten to where I can take a $5.99 cut of roast cooked on the grill (slow) come off tender I like to use oregano, thyme and basil. tomorrow I'm doing leg quarters on the grill I use mesquite lump coal in my grill and my blacksmith forge. chicken and pork cook best off to the side of the fire in a covered foil pan with the grill lid down and the stacks capped. I'll start my fire an hour before I'll try to put the meat on. I turn the pan 180 degrees every 30 minutes, if the meats on by 1300 it'll come off at 1500. the top to my grill has lifting rings (hand forged by me) so it could be set on for the hinge pins 3/4" solid round stock. there around 300 pounds of iron in that grill. I have no plans of moving it anytime soon. it shrugged off Harvey with ease.

I think it's $20.99 here. I paid $10 today, the price of hamburger. I would've taken more but I figured I'd give someone less fortunate than me a chance.
Real meat is seldom on my board-of-fare here too, especially when I'm alone. I'm a real tight-ass.

I was working on a post for you that I thought you'd get a kick out of.
My sister called and my computer went into the sleep mode and wouldn't come back on (locked up).
I had to do a cold restart, but the restore lost all my stuff.
It had to do with a meme about a drunk chick riding two horses at once and a story about my ex-wife and her horsies.

I might try to recreate some of it, but fiddling with my keyboard and mouse for a half hour kinda spun the fun out of it.
