James Woods made a shocking announcement on Thursday, revealing he is leaving the Republican Party.
The 78-year-old actor, known for his conservative views, has embraced MAGA politics and called Trump ‘the greatest president of my lifetime,’ making him one of Hollywood’s most outspoken supporters.
Over the years, Woods has used social media to launch scathing attacks on prominent Democrats, including Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio‑Cortez.
He has also claimed that his politics have come at a cost, alleging professional backlash in Hollywood - from his agent dropping him to fewer acting roles - which he attributed to being ‘blacklisted’ for his outspoken views.
Now, Woods says he’s fed up with the Republican Party itself. Taking to X, he criticized congressional Republicans for blocking an effort to investigate Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, arguing that some GOP lawmakers aren’t doing enough to hold the opposition accountable.
‘I am done with the Republican Party,’ Woods wrote. ‘Between this and Thune’s refusal to pass the SAVE Act, I’m done with these uniparty traitors.'

Sixty-seven dog breeds could be banned in Britain if new breeding guidelines set by parliament become mandatory, campaigners have warned.
The all-party parliamentary group (APPG) for animal welfare has launched a new tool to determine if a dog is healthy.
The cross-party committee has developed a 10-point checklist of extreme physical characteristics which can make for a poorly pooch.
They include mottled colouration, excessive skin folds, bulging outward-turning eyes, drooping eyelids, under or overbite and a muzzle that interrupts breathing.
The assessment - which is currently voluntary but expected to become law within five years - aims to drive out breeds with these sorts of exaggerated attributes.
It comes after studies have shown animals of these varieties can sometimes suffer pain, discomfort and frustration from birth.
But critics have cautioned the new criteria will see some 67 of the most popular types of dog in the UK automatically dubbed unhealthy, according to The Times.

Newly released Department of Justice documents will raise even more suspicions surrounding the alleged suicide of Jeffrey Epstein back in 2019.
As the New York Post reported, DOJ records reveal that Tova Noel, one of Epstein’s prison guards at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, not only googled the p*dophile’s name just minutes before he was found deceased but slept on the job and shopped online when she was supposed to be watching him.

Noel googled “latest on Epstein in jail” at 5:42 a.m. and then again at 5:52 a.m. — less than 40 minutes before her colleague, correctional officer Michael Thomas, found the disgraced financier dead in his cell by hanging at 6:30 a.m., according to an FBI record of Noel’s internet search history that night.
Earlier that shift, Noel, 37, shopped for furniture online and snoozed on the job instead of making the mandated checks on Epstein every 30 minutes, while Thomas perused motorcycles, prosecutors said.
The FBI highlighted the eerie internet search in its 66-page forensic examination of the Bureau of Prisons’ desktop computers of Noel and Thomas. It was the only search highlighted.
Noel, who previously admitted to falsifying records after Epstein died, but escaped charges thanks to a so-called judge, lied and said she never googled Epstein.
“I don’t remember doing that,” she said, according to an FBI transcript. She also said that FBI records were not “accurate” and stated she did not recall looking him up.
Noel also made a mysterious $5,000 deposit 10 days before his death. This was after other suspicious cash deposits also appeared in her bank.
But the DOJ did not bother asking her about them.

Meanwhile, Chase Bank flagged cash deposits in Noel’s bank account in a “suspicious activity report” to the FBI in November 2019, another file from the DOJ revealed.
A total of 12 deposits began in April 2018, the bank said, and culminated in the largest deposit, for $5,000, on July 30, 2019, the records showed.
The files only contain Noel’s bank records beginning in December 2018. They show seven cash deposits totaling $11,880. Noel started working at the Special Housing Unit — where Epstein had been held — beginning on July 7, 2019, just weeks before his death.
Noel, who drove a $62,000 2019 Land Rover Range Rover, wasn’t asked about the cash during her DOJ interview, records showed.
On another interesting note, an internal FBI briefing that was also uncovered in the DOJ files revealed the agency believed Noel was the orange ‘flash’ moving toward Epstein’s jail cell the night he died.
At approximately 10:40 pm, a correctional officer, believed to be Tova Noel, carried linen or inmate clothing up to the L-Tier, the last time any correctional officer approached the only entrance to the SHU tier.
Noel denied carrying any linens or clothing to Epstein’s cell.
Adding a bit more intrigue, Noel has since been sued in Westchester County Supreme Court for alleged assault at her current job as a medical office assistant at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care.
