The A/C's having a hard time keeping up today.
When I looked at the weather this morning, it said it was 88 with a heat index of 100. It's 90 now.
The upstairs felt hot when I went up to take some laundry up, it said 82.6.
I pulled the filters and cleaned them, the filter light was on.

I checked the downstairs A/C cottonwood screens outside, they need attention.

At least the washing machine was behaving today. I didn't have to fiddle with running it through the final drain/spin setting three times.

Lot of animal abuse videos circulating today, and the usual chimp-outs.

the low here was 82 at least the humidity didn't go past 95 percent, talk of rain this weekend. even with the rains last week and the expected corpus is set to be out of water in November, lake corpus christi is at 28.1% full was at 8.3% april 17 this year. still no site selected for the desalination plant as they can't figure out where they are going to dump all the stuff they take out processing the water, wherever will become a dead zone.

A tired-looking dog wanders into a guy's yard. The man examined the dog's collar, feels his well-fed belly and knows the dog has a home. The dog follows him into the house, gets comfortable on the couch and falls asleep...

The man thinks its rather odd, but lets him sleep.

After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out.

The dog wags his tail and leaves.

The next day the dog comes back and scratches at the door.

The guy opens the door, the dog comes in, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep again.

The man lets him sleep.

After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out.

The dog wags his tail and leaves.

This goes on for days.

The guy grows really curious, so he pins a note on the dog's collar:

"Your dog has been taking a nap at my house every day."

The next day the dog arrives with another note pinned to his collar:

"He lives in a home with four children... He's trying to catch up on his sleep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?'

>>karmello<<

Prison name: Kumswallo.

We must've had a big wind come through last night. There's limbs down all over the hood and traffic lights out, etc.
Got to the store to pick up a few things. Kroger finally had some decent flowers today for Kimmy. That should give her something to smile about this weekend.
All kinds of road repairs in the four miles between my hovel and Kroger. They've been repairing the bridge deck on southbound Coliseum (930) over the Maumee River for months now.
They were done for the day at 1300 when I went by today.
They're tearing up Holly Ave. in my neighborhood getting ready to resurface it. I'm gonna be trapped in here one of these days. My dead end alley exits onto Holly.
Supposed to get pretty hot tomorrow, I might have trouble regulating Doc's temperature tomorrow night when she gets here.
Much above 85, my upstairs A/C has a hard time keeping up. Above 90, forget it.

Kim's hospital group has commercials on EweToob. Why the hell would a hospital monopoly need advertising? Not like there's a choice.

Interesting, but ABSOLUTELY NOT! Been there, done that.

In this clip, a plumber breaks down the U.S. Department of Energy’s updated efficiency standards for residential water heaters. These standards, which apply to new models manufactured after May 2029, set higher performance requirements — particularly for larger electric storage tanks.

The practical result is that newer electric water heaters will increasingly use heat pump technology, which is significantly more efficient than traditional electric resistance models.

Homeowners who choose to upgrade proactively can enjoy meaningful long-term energy savings. According to DOE analysis, switching to a qualifying heat pump water heater can deliver average lifetime savings of around $1,800–$2,000 per unit compared to older standard models, with many households seeing hundreds of dollars reduced from their annual utility bills.

These savings can be increased even further by adding two simple, cost-effective upgrades:

• A basic timer (or smart controller) so the water heater only runs during off-peak hours or when hot water is actually needed.

• Professional-grade Armaflex (or equivalent closed-cell elastomeric foam) insulation wrap on the tank and hot water pipes. This high-quality insulation dramatically reduces standby heat loss — often cutting additional energy waste by 10–25% or more depending on your current setup and climate.

Together, the more efficient unit + timer + professional insulation wrap creates a system that uses far less electricity while still delivering reliable hot water. Many homeowners find the combined upgrades pay for themselves through lower monthly bills over time, without any requirement to change anything immediately.

This approach gives you control over your energy use and long-term costs on your own timeline.

I’m not much on government mandates but I think they’re onto something here this new innovation in water heaters can be a game changer as far as savings if we incorporate a timer and a professional grade insulation job,

The DIY’er can really clean up with this one, I put a link to an AO Smith 50 gallon in the first comment, I do highly recommend the expansion tank, it will definitely help with the longevity.

1. Too expensive.

2. Prone to failure. Mine only lasted a few years.

place we mowed today there were cones out, the brought the asphalt grinder just as we got done. not sure how we can work it in a couple of weeks. the pavers don't give a shit about how far their tires sink into a yard. we are looking at more rain the first of the week, good breeze the last two days with few mosquitoes. trying to get something set up for at least one of the broody hens, some will sit the eggs where you put them and others will ignore them out of a given nesting area. I want to hatch out some more eggs and it is too hot to set up the incubator in the garage without it overheating the eggs. the chicks that hatched in March are looking real good feather sexed them when they were 2 days old and it looked like a typical 50/50 split but the crowns are showing all of them being pullets. these will replace 2/3rds of the hens the dog killed. I've been lucky to get more than a dozen eggs a day lately, down from the 24 a day I was getting, the heat stresses them and most only lay in nest boxes of the original coop. that set of boxes needs replaced and the replacement is built just can't get the time to undo the old set to mount the new set, these boxes are accessed from outside the coop for egg collection.

Your posts are more interesting than anything that I'm seeing elsewhere on Al Gore's interwebs.
You might end up being the subject of a CIA inquiry.
J/K, you already are. The Company is just mad that you're not gay and they can't run you for some office in TX as a dumocrat.
I sent a memo that you're a tight-lipped prick that just wants to be left alone, FWIW. [Hotel California paradox]

I showed him my Toyota and clown car. He doesn't speaky much Engliee, Like CIA, but understood Central Intelligence Agency.
He mentioned 'Javier' the Venezuelan spook (secret police) that was running the joint next door.
He's cool.
My killing in 2008 seems to be enduring. "Make nice with Pacman or die."

That's not exactly the way it is.

I doubt the Company would step on a prosecutor to back off again.

I'm on my own.

A married couple are out one night at a dance club. There’s a guy on the dance floor giving it large: break dancing, moon walking, back flips, the works.

The wife turns to her husband and says, "See that guy? Twenty years ago he proposed to me and I turned him down."

The husband says, "Looks like he’s still celebrating!"

An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighborhood after they retired. Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. It was not locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they’d shared, where Jerry had carved I love you, Sally.

On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car, practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money – fifty thousand dollars!

Jerry said, We’ve got to give it back.

Sally said, Finders keepers. She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money, and knocked on their door. Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armored car yesterday?

Sally said, No.

Jerry said, She¹s lying. She hid it up in the attic.

Sally said, Don’t believe him, he¹s getting senile

The agents turned to Jerry and began to question him.

One said: Tell us the story from the beginning.

Jerry said, Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday …

The first police officer turned to his partner and said, Were outta here!

Three Irishmen -- Paddy, Sean and Seamus -- were stumbling home from the pub late one night and found themselves on the road which led past the old graveyard.

"Come have a look over here," says Paddy. "It's Michael O'Grady's grave, God bless his soul. He lived to the ripe old age of 87."

"That's nothing," says Sean, "here's one named Patrick O'Toole, it says here he was 95 when he died."

Just then, Seamus yells out, "Good God, here's a fella that got to be 145!"

"What was his name?" asks Paddy.

Seamus stumbles around a bit, awkwardly lights a match to see what else is written on the stone marker, and exclaims, "Miles, from Dublin."
