President Trump announced Friday that he has pardoned several people convicted in federal vehicle emissions cases and is reportedly considering pardons for celebrities, including for rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The president has not made a decision on Combs or other high-profile clemency requests, but he has discussed them privately in recent days, sources familiar with the matter told CBS News.

The White House did not immediately confirm whether Combs is under consideration.

Trump said he signed pardons for six people Friday who were convicted of emissions violations tied to the Clean Air Act.

 

Trump described the people as victims of political persecution.

“It is my Great Honor to have just signed Pardons for six people who were persecuted by the Biden Administration, and were in, or being sent to, prison, for ‘fixing their car,’” he wrote on Truth Social.
