The U.S. just recorded its first two deaths from the Cyclospora outbreak, both in Michigan.

Over 10,000 illnesses nationwide. Hundreds hospitalized. Cases in nearly every state.

FDA is pointing to iceberg lettuce processed in Mexico (Taylor Farms de Mexico) as the main source. A separate Salmonella outbreak is also hitting jalapeños from Mexico.

Dr. David Bernstein on Fox: This is concerning, but most people won’t die from it. Wash your produce. If you get bad diarrhea that won’t go away after eating salad, see a doctor and specifically ask about Cyclospora.

This year’s numbers are significantly higher than normal.

Food safety starts at the source. When contaminated produce from outside the country keeps making Americans sick, and now killing some, the system needs real accountability, not just another recall.

The Level 3 wind risk we flagged for Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio is here today, and it's tied to that same storm cluster now rolling out of Iowa into a very warm, moist Ohio Valley. If it stays organized, forecasters say a swath of gusts over 75 mph is possible, with Cincinnati and Dayton's best window running into the evening, sharpest around 5 to 6 PM. This is going to be a billion-dollar disaster across the Midwest.

View from space shows a violent line of storms, with embedded tornadoes roaring through Chicago with severe thunderstorm warnings including hurricane-force wind gusts up to 100 mph. Winds as high as 130 mph were detected just above the surface.

The complex of storms, which developed over eastern Iowa this morning, will continue racing southeast into Indiana and Ohio and is expected to be classified as a derecho.

My sister east of Gary, IN got hit pretty bad. A lot of trees down that took out a section of her fence. No power, she has a backup generator.

She says her neighborhood is impassable from trees across roads.

It weakened before it got to Ft. Wayne, but we had 60 mph winds according to the local WX channel.

I'd keep them a couple rounds short to prevent spring creep.
Four 30 round mags were loaded to a hundred.

typical hot and humid here. more wind than most Augusts. just about cotton picking time, the bale haulers drive worse than the belly dump haulers. didn't see any boll weevil traps this year. my oldest daughter had surgery today for a 30 cm kidney stone seems everything has gone okay so far. my son in law works at one of the refineries so they have good medical insurance.

we never had ammo sitting in magazines for very long so we always loaded full up I had 1911s on the boat until '97 and even then, I had to show the Gunner mate chief who was inspecting my arms how to disassemble and reassembly the M9s. the GMC may have been from GMM background so I cut him some slack, very few GMs knew shit about ammo admin. when I was in special enforcement we were on the range once a month for quals whereas the regular patrol guys qualed once a quarter, we line coached for everyone else to qualify, we ran just about everyone stationed in Subic Bay at the time through M16 quals we were still toting A1s in '96, hell got to the boat in '96 to an armory with M14s, I think they were still on the boat when it was decommed. not seeing the battle ground pick up sales now like there were from Bosnia and Kosovo. I would still like to find a decent FN FAL.
