ALL THIS FOR THE HOLY LAND." Another mocks the surveillance state that's rising at home while service members who are sworn to defend the Constitution are sent overseas for an unconstitutional war launched on false premises: "I love Flock Cameras."

 As this is written, mainstream media isn't touching the story with a ten-foot-pole, despite the sound reputation of Parsi, who has vouched for its authenticity. The media silence about the messages has thus far relieved the Pentagon from having to issue a statement about them. If it does, we can expect the DOD to claim the graffiti is unrepresentative of how most US service members feel.

A poll claiming Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was leading Councilmember Nithya Raman by a wide margin — and picking up support from most voters who backed Spencer Pratt in the mayoral primary — was bogus, the company behind the poll acknowledged Monday.

The fake poll by Median Strategies showed Bass leading Raman by nearly 12 percentage points ahead of the Nov. 3 mayoral runoff, and said the results were based on a survey of 560 Los Angeles voters between July 30 and Aug. 5. It said it had a 4.1% margin of error.

But Monday, in response to repeated inquiries from The Times, the company said the purported “poll” was nothing of the kind.

 “Median Strategies was created as a short term social experiment to examine how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification,” the company said in an email to The Times. “We are not seeking publicity or attribution for the individuals involved and are declining interviews.”

She Spent 7 Months in Legal Hell After Cops Used Flock Surveillance To Identify the Wrong Car

 On October 4, 2025, Joaquin Deno attended his granddaughter's birthday party in Sanford, Florida. At the end of the night, he headed to his daughter's house.

Eight miles down Interstate 4, a speeding car swerved across multiple lanes at over 100 mph. It swiped Deno's motorcycle, then hit a Ford Focus, causing a pileup, before driving away. Deno died at the scene, as did a county official and his wife.

Witnesses said the speeding car was a Dodge Durango. Police found that a Flock camera—a type of automated license plate reader (ALPR)—had spotted a Durango nearby at the time, and they arrested the owner, 23-year-old Lindsey Isaacs.

But Isaacs wasn't involved in the crash, and officers had enough information at the time to exclude her as a suspect. Yet she still spent two weeks in jail and faced the threat of life behind bars for months because police didn't use basic scrutiny to be sure their cameras implicated the right person.

 The UK government has announced a new per-mile car tax for EVs and plug-in hybrids from 2028. The UK government will introduce its new mileage-based Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028. Following a consultation with more than 5,000 respondents, ministers have simplified compliance requirements for fleets and dropped additional mileage checks for newer vehicles.

Under the new framework, battery-electric vehicles will be charged 3 pence per mile, while plug-in hybrids will pay 1.5 pence per mile. The mileage-based charge will apply in addition to standard Vehicle Excise Duty. Electric vans will remain exempt.

According to the government, the new system is designed to ensure that drivers of electric vehicles contribute to road funding as fuel duty receipts decline towards zero by 2050. The government also argues that EV drivers will continue to benefit from favourable tax treatment compared with owners of petrol and diesel vehicles. More than £7.5 billion in support measures for zero-emission mobility are planned over the next decade, partly funded through the reinvestment of eVED revenues.
