The flydubai scare may have been far worse than a cockpit fight, with authorities looking into whether one of the pilots deliberately tried to CRASH the plane.

One pilot reportedly sharply pointed the plane downward, and the other fought him off and pulled it out of the dive.

The plane dropped 14,125 feet in just 29 seconds.

A Biden-appointed federal judge dismissed Riley Gaines' lawsuit against the NCAA trying to protect girls' and women's sports.

GM's reasoning in the late 1970s was sound. Fuel prices had risen twice in a decade, diesel burns less fuel for the same work, and Europe had been selling diesel passenger cars for years.

What GM did next was the problem.

Rather than designing a diesel from scratch, it took the Oldsmobile 350 gasoline V8 and converted it. Same basic block architecture, with higher compression, reinforced components, and a diesel injection system.

That sounds efficient, and it ignores what makes a diesel different.

A gasoline engine runs compression around 8 or 9 to 1 and ignites the mixture with a spark. A diesel has no spark. It compresses air to roughly 22 to 1 until it is hot enough to ignite fuel on its own.

Everything about that is more violent. Peak cylinder pressures are far higher. The loads on the head bolts, the connecting rods, the crankshaft, and the block itself are in a different category entirely.

The Olds 350 block was strong for a gasoline engine. It had not been designed for diesel pressures, and the head bolt arrangement in particular was not up to the job. Head gasket failures became common, and when a head gasket goes on a diesel, coolant gets into places it should not be.

There were other problems. The fuel system had no water separator, and water in diesel fuel destroys injection equipment. Owners used to gasoline engines were not told how different the maintenance requirements were. Dealers frequently did not know either.

Output was modest and the torque was reasonable, and fuel economy genuinely improved over the gasoline V8s of the period.

None of that mattered once the engines started failing. The LF9 went into Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs, and Chevrolets, and it produced class-action lawsuits and a warranty bill that ran into tens of millions.

The lasting damage was to diesel itself. An entire generation of American buyers concluded that diesel cars were unreliable, and that belief held for decades, long after European diesels had become excellent.

One engine, converted rather than designed, and it cost diesel an entire market.

The hospital found out Gail Seiler was unvaccinated for COVID. Then they tried to MURDER her.

When her husband came to take her home, the hospital made her a PRISONER.

Dundee lost his life while assisting deputies in the line of duty.

K9 Dundee, a 4-year-old German Shepherd with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, died early Monday morning, September 28, 2026, in North Fort Myers, Florida.

Deputies were checking a gray Nissan Altima parked the wrong way in the Island Vista Estates neighborhood after recent burglaries.

They smelled burnt marijuana. One occupant ran. Dundee and his handler, Deputy Julian Chala, tracked the suspect into nearby woods and made the apprehension.

Immediately afterward, Dundee became unresponsive. Deputies and medical staff tried to revive him on scene and at BluePearl Pet Hospital, but he was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno said there were no gunshot or stab wounds. Officials described it as appearing to be a medical event.

A necropsy is pending to determine the exact cause. The death is being treated as a line-of-duty death.

Dundee had served since February 2024 with dual patrol and narcotics certifications. He completed 174 deployments and 28 apprehensions. Several occupants of the vehicle, including teenagers, were arrested on related charges.

A Big Mac costs $5.69 at one Fresno store and $6.89 two miles down the road. Franchisees say corporate pressures them to follow the AI's recommendations. CEO Kempczinski told investors that "pricing non-compliance" affects contract renewals. The tool once recommended an $18 Big Mac in Connecticut.

My Take

McDonald's stock is down 30% since February. Low-income traffic declined nearly double digits over two years. And their big idea is an algorithm that calculates exactly how much more the people who still show up will tolerate. I don't know who approved this but I'd love to see that meeting.

McDonald's makes money from rent and a cut of store revenue. Higher menu prices flow directly to corporate. But the franchisee is the one who has to look a customer in the eye and explain why a Big Mac costs $6.89 here and $5.69 down the street. McDonald's builds the tool, pressures owners to use it, and then its own pricing portal warns franchisees to get independent legal counsel because they "may be competitors of each other." Wendy's and Instacart both tried dynamic pricing and both backed down. McDonald's is pushing ahead because it doesn't absorb the risk here, the store owner does.
