President Donald Trump will announce his Supreme Court nomination this weekend, and Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit is believed to be a top candidate.
So media outlets have begun digging into her background, many of them with the intent of finding unfavorable information about the woman who could become President Donald Trump's third Supreme Court appointment of his first term. Barrett's Catholic faith has been a primary focus. Newsweek published an article that claimed in the headline that a Catholic group Barrett is a member of was the inspiration for "The Handmaid's Tale," a novel by Margaret Atwood that was recently made into a television show. This is not true, and Newsweek had to issue a correction. "Correction: This article's headline originally stated that People of Praise inspired 'The Handmaid's Tale'. The book's author, Margaret Atwood, has never specifically mentioned the group as being the inspiration for her work," the correction read. "A New Yorker profile of the author from 2017 mentions a newspaper clipping as part of her research for the book of a different charismatic Catholic group, People of Hope. Newsweek regrets the error."
"The Handmaid's Tale" is described on IMDb as follows: "A religion based autocracy has taken over most of the United States, renaming the country Gilead. In this country women are second-class citizens. Anyone trying to escape is punished."
The article described some of the aspects of People of Praise, such as opposition to premarital or extramarital sex, opposition to abortion, and opposition to homosexuality and quoted a professor who questioned whether Barrett would be able to make individual decisions as a member of such a group.
Nevertheless, concerns have been raised that Barrett's ties to the group as would influence her decisions on the Supreme Court.
"These groups can become so absorbing that it's difficult for a person to retain individual judgment," Sarah Barringer Gordon, a professor of constitutional law and history at the University of Pennsylvania, previously told The Times.
And while the People of Praise group was never brought up in Barrett's 2017 confirmation hearing for her current post, Senator Dianne Feinstein told Barrett: "The dogma lives loudly within you." Barrett told the senators that her faith would not affect her decisions as a judge.
President Donald Trump has said he will announce his nominee on Saturday, after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's funeral. In addition to Barrett, the shortlist reportedly includes Judge Barbara Lagoa of the Eleventh Circuit and Judge Allison Jones Rushing of the Fourth Circuit.

Nice to know that rumor is not true.

This juncture is indeed parallel with Ronnie boy's signing of the King holiday against nationwide public ire. He didn't even want to but said "sometimes you have to go with the appearance of things rather than the reality."
There is no such thing as a good female Extreme Court 'justice'. There is no such thing as a good man or woman agreeing to be called a 'justice', period -- how CAN they! If there are even 5 decent woman judges in the world we're having a good day.
If Tromp really wanted to help us he'd do up an EO requiring all women to quit public life and get back in the kitchen. All contact tracing would be retooled to cookie tracing to make sure each housewife was baking her quota.

Well, that would certainly guarantee his winning reelection.
The office of president is a political office. Doing anything and everything without consideration of political consequences is just not something any president would survive.
Ginsburg was a woman, so replacing her with another woman is the most politically advantageous thing, come what may.

A male judge would have 100 rape complaints filed. The judge will likely be Catholic. The hearing will expose the Democrats to the ire of the Catholic voters. And the Antifa thugs will get in some Satanic chants as they terrorize Washington and get arrested on federal charges.

That is why Truman had the small sign on his desk, "The Buck Stops Here". ;)

The female-driven fad of adopting nonwhite children is sickeningly depraved. Docky James Dobson did multiple shows to feature a while couple that adopted Korean babies and helped others to. The cooing and wooing over the idea was nauseating -- with the wife as main spokesman, natch!
Finally on the 3rd or 4th such installment Docky asked them what was the actual point of doing so, and they were stumped! A real classic moment in right-brained, left-headed girly funnymentalism.
Now, will somebody please get Civil War 1.5 off my back? I have just spent the afternoon preparing and mailing via USPS a packet to each member of my county council:
9/23/20
Dear
Enclosed is the petition of which I read excerpts at the 9/15 Council meeting. Please let me know if you have already received a copy and whether the Council is involved in any plans to remove this tribute to our ancestors bravery.
Please also let me know that you will vote against erasing any of Andersons Confederate heritage and culture during your tenure.
I realize this is being treated as a city issue so far, but its county councils that are destroying Confederate culture elsewhere to please todays red diaper babies and I see from an August 31 Independent-Mail article that Mayor Roberts was planning to get your organization involved in removing the monument.
Contrary to the endless barrage of lies that has for decades been intended to divide the races over it, the monument et al simply represent the valiant stand of our ancestors all of our ancestors, black, white and otherwise to save their civilization from a vast, amoral, literally communist assault. The enclosed book proves the Norths behavior during the War, for all its fine words, was nothing but savage.
Thank you very much. Sincerely,
[petition I wrote -- we've distributed over 1,000 copies in naberhoods with our newspaper the Conservative Action Report:]
COPY AND DISTRIBUTE A PETITION TO THE ANDERSON COUNTY COUNCIL
We the undersigned request and urge that the Anderson County Council decline to move, remove or otherwise alter the Confederate monument in the center of town. The same goes for any other token of Southern/Confederate history and culture. This history is noble, honorable and major it is not negotiable or a political bargaining chip. Anarchy is in the air today as fanatics demand the extirpation of everything not deemed politically correct. They must be stopped, not heeded. They are clearly driven by hatred of America, her people and traditions not fairness or equality as is stridently claimed. Concession has never worked with such extremists. Cancel culture is a plague, not a cause. We trust you not to get involved in it. A fence was put up around the monument for protection a few years ago. Is it meaningless now? This is supposed to be a settled matter. The state legislature passed the Heritage Act to obviate all such conflict, but the Act is now as embattled as the monuments et al. The entire issue should be moot in the first place because there were never any actual grounds for removing the Confederate flags from places of honor at and in the State House. It only resulted from a hate campaign by the newsmedia and fringe organizations and betrayals by politicians of both parties: they simply shut the general public out of the discussion. It is only in dictatorships that statues are pulled down because they dont match a new political vogue. Anderson is not the USSR where Joseph Stalin demolished the huge Cathedral of Christ the Savior to make way for the Palace of the Soviets. We do not want the County evidencing that mentality. The slavery argument is disingenuous: 96% of the men who died for the South came from families who owned no slaves (source: 1860 census). Professor David Blight of Yale University has stated publicly that the Southern troops fought to keep the original Constitution with all its mandates for liberty and individual freedom, while the North fought to impose a new regime on the United States based on the 14th-16th Amendments. Therefore, we the citizens call the County Council to firmly decline any and all requests, demands and petitions for removal of Confederate heritage be it the monument, street names or in any other form.

Maybe you should get on John Roberts since he and his wife adopted two small children from Ireland. And doing that is against Irish law. But being the Chief Justice they gave him a pass. ;)

Dames are hell in big business (Tulsi Gabbard, Elizabeth Warren) and the leading female politicians have been disastrous, ptly because communist jews take every bad situation and make it 10 times worse.
A great deal of the time when some ghastly legal decision is handed down it's the work of a girl judge. Since their brains work more by feel they're subject to the faux compassionism in which gliberalism cloaks itself. We're not even talking about the toxic impact of 'sexual harassment' in these fields, real and imagined.
I'm saying these things (and PC-busting websites document them) for the good of women as well as men. Every person and and ever gender has to know its proper roles in life -- it's hell to pay if this isn't heeded.
Women can be great in small business but I can only think of one that was so in local politics -- and after decades of abuse for exposing evils in our county govt she's simply switched sides.
Her colleague on the council is a brainless negress who simply 'votes her skin color' as defined by the jewsmedia. Of course she's a school principal by trade! And operated illegally as chairwoman since her school is in a different county.
