The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) began processing a new wave of stimulus payments with the first checks expected to appear in bank accounts this weekend.
The $1.9 trillion stimulus package signed by President Joe Biden on Thursday includes $1,400 direct payments to qualifying individuals.
The payments will be delivered automatically to taxpayers even as the IRS continues delivering regular tax refunds, IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said in a statement.
The government is aiming to disburse the payments in the next few weeks. Roughly 85 percent of Americans are eligible for the payments.

I used credit cards to spend $800 of mine. Saving the rest for food and medical costs. I have stocked up so I can last a few weeks without anything coming in at all.

The people get $1,400 but our masters get $4,358 and it is the people that end up paying for both.

Hard to believe that many "tax paying" singles/couples make less than 75/150K per year, but maybe so.

Lod may well live to see the next and possibly LAST CRASH for this country.
Millions of us lived thru and survived the Great Depression.
There is one prominent, over riding question. Will the people remain peaceful and hungry the next time???? After eight long years, the government and people of means took the country into world war. It was we, the useless eaters, that were dragged off to war, to bleed and die and half a million of us did just that.
When the crash comes, the hungry masses will eliminate the government and the ruling class.
Great Depression, we were hungry in poor living conditions but we remained peaceful and hungry for years, that will not happen again.

I can believe it.
The US Census Bureau says the US median household income was $68,703 in 2019.
The average factory wage in this country is reportedly $14.80/hour. The average construction worker makes about $35,000/year. The average skilled tradesman makes about $47,000/year. The average salary of a gov school teacher is $59,000/year.
We're not all Texas oil tycoons, Lod.

I try to keep my AGI +/-$20,000/yr (no debt). Last year was an anomaly and a disaster. I overran by about 65k. No OboingoCare for me, if a MD would actually see me.
Thank God I'm under the 50mil net worth the commies are going to start taxing. 50mil, 5mil, 1mil, I'm screwed.
I'm glad that I have no progeny.

If you're standing opposed to Cyni, you're standing opposed me, I'm probably a a generation younger than him. I know OM's creds, he did OK as did my dad fighting the commies, Dad died in '76.
You wanna badmouth somebody, pick me. There might be a couple fellas here who might back me up. Maybe not. Fuckin' internut tough guy.

Having spent twenty five years of my life as government/military drone, Menchen was charitable. If alive now, he would forecast or predict that our government will fall, with or without violence. Presently the future portends violence.

My mother was a young girl back in those days, she told me the stories later when I could appreciate them. I'm such a tight-ass, you'll never get a nickel out of me.

I don't know what rank my Dad was in WW2, but he was as lowly as you, I'm sure. He was a good man and fought in the Philippines and then the commies at a defense contractor until '76, when he passed.
I hope he doesn't know where I left things in 1995. I thought it was done. I guess not.
The Chinks weren't much on the radar until I was on my way out.

Thanks, Lod. Been walking alone for a long time, don't usually need back- up.
A current buddy of mine that's not allowed to know where where I was between 1981-1995, used to like calling me a pussy. I sure as hell don't remember what I told him last weekend, but he sure as hell seems to understand me a little better.
I wish I could remember what I said. His bitchy wife even treated me nice today.

But how many factories are there in the U.S. now? In the small town I live in we have lost two factories in the last 15 years.
And now the city wants to start a new industrial park where a road was put in as a bypass when the bridge was replaced over a nearby railroad track.
But where in hell are they going to find businesses that want to build factories here in this small town, even it there is easy access to the interstate and even railroad for possible freight sidings? ;)

When I drove a truck down to Florida, I got into a fight with my co- driver. I locked him out of the truck. He climbed up on the catwalk behind the tractor when I started to pull away and leave him there.
I called my ex-co-driver. He told me, "Don't stop in Kansas City. Keep going."
I called 9-11 on cell and arranged to meet the cops at a nearby exit. When I stopped he climbed down on the right hand side of truck and motioned me to come out. I said, "You better look behind you." The cops walked up on him. They made us bury the hatchet. He got back in the truck and told me, "Prepare yourself."
He was planning on kicking my ass. No way that was going to happen. So I pulled up in a Wal Mart in Springfield and called for the police. When I opened the sleeper door and awakened him, he saw the cops behind me and said, "You are a pussy." I told him, "That may be. But James (the boss) said he wants you out of the truck." We were based out of Niangua and he had to find a way to get there since that was an easy 100 miles away.
I wasn't going to get my ass kicked for any reason.
But a few months later, that guy was driving the same tractor me and my co-driver usually had. He was going thru a scalehouse in South Dakota. A dog keyed on the truck. They stopped him and climbed all over those boxes of flowers in the trailer.
The ran his I.D. and found out he had a warrant in Texas and had him extradited. It must have been a felony since they would not do that over a misdemeanor. I sure am glad I wasn't with him when that happened.
I bet they had a planned pick up of fresh frozen chickens in Nebraska since we picked up a load there once when I had a green kid with me. He missed a turn and almost ended up in Kansas. If I hadn't opened the sleeper curtain in time to see the sign, KANSAS STATE LINE 4 MILES he would have ended up there. I said to him, "How are you going to explain being in Kansas when you're not supposed to be there?"
It is like Hank, Jr. said, "I understand, perfectly." ;)

Sometimes a man just has to clear up these "failures to communicate."
So well than even mama gets it.
