Big deal -- you got that right.

General inflation alone will ensure that a new "highest-ever average price" will be reached often. And not just for gas.

"Silence makes no mistakes."

Just out of curiosity, exactly how many pipeline projects and how much federal land was declared off-limits to drilling by Junior? I know the answer, I just want everybody to see if you do. (full disclosure)

Bonus questions: Who was the last President that was in office that let this country become energy independent (and an energy exporter that rivaled OPEC) since before the 1970s?

Which so-called President put a stop to all that nonsense the day after he was inaugurated?

We'll wait.

(Edit) There's several men, not trannies, not bitter women that are tatted up like alcoholic sailors, or various and sundry assorted freaks, here that came from a culture that would approve of the axiom, "Nuke it. Pave it, and paint it green. Oh yeah, take the oil while you're at it."

My old black-and-tan coonhound died a couple of years ago. If he were still alive these days, he wonder about me, because I'd have a really hard time sharing with him when I can find -- and afford -- a steak to grill out. I might have to throw him some less expensive side meat, or a piece of cheese -- which nowadays ain't cheap neither.

You'll be OK. Like I said earlier, the strong always eat well. You've got the bonus plan goin' on by being smart.

Hey, off topic a little bit, but still kind of relevant because of inflation -- do y'all have Harbor Freight stores up there in Hoosierville? They just opened a new one in the town near me. I walked the whole store a few days ago. Lots of cheap Chinese junk, but some of the stuff didn't look too bad from cost/benefit ratio standpoint. I bought a large aluminum roofing square and a 5-pack of those cheap cowhide palm gloves -- same ones that cost 2x at Lowe's.

Apropos nothing, I have never seen, much less bought a 5-pack of leather work gloves.

That's HoosierHickistan to you. Yeah, the Summit City has one about 3 miles from me at Coliseum and E. State. We just got a Northern Tool joint recently, but I've not been there, It's on the other side of town near IN3 & I69. The only time I get over that way is when I need to go to Gordon's Food Service or Costco, which is once in a blue moon.

Back when I was pretending to be a building contractor, I used to spend a lot of time at HFT, usually to get some one-time tool that I'd never use again for $40 rather than 200. It was just the cost of doing business. The last time I was there I was there was probably August to get a buddy a halfway decent (low-usage) 100' airhose after I showed up on weekend and he had a bunch of those crap-ass plastic coily hoses daisy-chaind together. This was a man of means, but he has the "just make it happen" mindset going on.

HFT has some nice tools, but I've owned nice tools dating back to my maternal grandfather. Don't need many more or my joint is going to pop.

Cheap, but good enough for working firewood. $8.99 for 5 pairs. ... Oh -- now I see that they're only $2.17 a pair at Lowe's, not 2x Harbor Freight's price as I said.

It adds up. Used to be that that HFT would send out flyers all the time with a 20% off coupon all the time (the discount would carry over to multiple quantities of the same item).

Prez Pedo 'effed that up too.

I'm with you. Most of the tools I own I bought to do a specific job (roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, automotive, etc.) and the money I saved by not hiring a contractor to do it easily paid for the tools. Same for several of the electronic instruments I use in my consulting business.

When I occasionally buy a tool just because it would be nice to have, I usually end up thinking "How did I ever get along without this thing?"

My favorite uncle who died two years ago LOVED Harbor Frieght. He would get a free item every week or month or visit or whatever -- I'm not sure what the deal was. Every time I went to see him he would give me a tape measure or a multi-plier tool or some such that he had multiple copies of stacked up on his workbench.

When we worked for State of Illinois doing highway maintenance, in winter we would get an extra large pair of White Mule work gloves. Then we would wear a pair of Jersey gloves under those. It was good thermal protection in winter when you were filling pot holes for extended periods of time.

We had a foreman who was a Sudeten German. When Germany annexed the Sudetenland he volunteered for the Waffen SS. He was captured by the Russians.

He was riding on a prison wagon with a female guard. She fell asleep and dropped her rifle. He jumped off the wagon and retrieved the rifle and awakened her.

She gave him a big kiss and told him if she had lost her rifle they would have killed her.

He was one of the few to be repatriated at the end of the war. Many of them died in the gulag as late as 1952.

He told us once, "In the old country we didn't have pot holes. They had cobblestones."

We were out in winter time doing what ever and he was calling on radio for for more asphalt..

I grabbed the mic and said, "Ya. In ze old country ve had ze cobblestones."

They guy who was in the crew cab with him told me when that came over the air he said, "Dammit!" ROTFLMAO!

LOL, I forgot about about the free coupon. I had so much of that shit around that I was almost able to redo a young punk's tool box that he lost because he was too stupid to lock his car. That was the bad ol' days, for sure.

(Edit) a 20% off coupon (or rarely 25%) and a free doo-dad. The best ever was a multi-screwdriver. The shaft would pop out of the handle and was reversible. I can't really describe it, but it would function as a medium slotted/phillips and if you reversed the shaft, it was a larger set. If the bits were out of the shaft, it could be used as a 1/4 or 5/16 nut driver. An HVAC guy's dream.

OK I had a new one laying around in my garage. It's called a Pittsburg 4-in-one screwdriver (actually 6 in 1). I love them. The only problem is that the soft grip handle has a bunch of little nubs to improve grip that quickly rub off once exposed to real-world conditions. Hell, it's a tool, not a dildo. I keep them all over including Weyland Yutani one (Whiskey-Yankee-Charlie one). C is for Corp. My fake business cards are cool as hell.

Item 69470. Sizes #1 #2 Phillips 3/16" 1/4" slotted. The bit's shanks are 1/4" and 5'16", hence, the nutdrivers if you put the appropriate bit in your pocket. 5 stars.

Use as a dildo is not rated. If it's a year old, it's gonna shed more nubs than Fauxi's clot-shot does spike proteins.

$4.75 Per Gallon

Gas prices in SW Missouri now are just under $3/gal.

Much of the price of motor fuels has to do with state excise taxes plus local and regional fuel taxes. ;)

Northern Tool just sent me an email saying I could have a chance to win a $250 gift certificate if I review the Milwaukee 18 volt battery charger I recently purchased. I think I'll leave this review:

In the movie Zulu when the officers sat to eat, one of the company commanders said of his men, "I'll not eat when their bellies are stuck to their back bones." ;)
